In a spirit of cross-border collaboration and European unity, our school proudly partnered with Athens College, Greece, for a special Europe Day celebration. This joint event marked a highlight in our ongoing collaboration with the Greek institution, as students and teachers from both schools connected online to explore key European themes.
As part of our Europe and Democracy Rally, several activities were conducted in hybrid format, allowing our students to engage directly with their peers from Athens College. Together, they participated in interactive workshops focused on media literacy, building trust in information, and envisioning the future of Europe.
The day culminated in a vibrant online discussion, where students from both schools reflected on three major themes: the history of the EU, the values of the EU, and the future of the EU. These conversations were particularly meaningful as 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, providing a historic lens through which to explore the European project.
In parallel, our EIGT Radio Club played an active role in documenting the day through Radio Europa. From our in-house radio studio on the second floor, student hosts led a series of insightful discussions with key participants. These included conversations with the visiting delegation from Brussels and interviews with the external facilitators who led the Democracy Rally workshops.
The Radio Europa segment provided students with an opportunity to practice media skills while also deepening their understanding of European values and institutions.
All recorded discussions will soon be available for streaming on the EIGT Radio and Radio Europa webpages.
