EIGT is proud to take part in exclusive projects that promote interdisciplinary learning. In this spirit, students from S1EN1 (14 students) and S3ICTC (12 students) participated in Ciné-AI, a project developed by the Centre National de l'Audiovisuel (CNA) specifically for UNESCO schools. This unique initiative allowed them to explore the intersection of film creation and artificial intelligence, deepening their understanding of both fields.
This is a project lasting several months, with around ten work sessions run jointly by Alain, Sébastian and Mylène from the NAC's education department (Dudelange).
The first session was a very enjoyable one, as they got their hands dirty by immersing themselves in the theme of AI through Steven Spielberg's film universe (based on an idea by Stanley Kubrick), by watching the cult film ‘AI’ (2001). The whole room was theirs, the only spectators on board! Through this dystopian narrative, the students had the opportunity to ask the first questions about AI and to raise issues and themes that fed into their second work session, at the EIGT, where two groups got to work brainstorming, looking for ideas, themes and characters for their short film project.
In the near future, students from the two classes will be talking to AI experts, through a collaboration between the CNA and the University of Luxembourg. Questioning the issues and complex realities of AI to fuel their creative work. What an adventure!
