On April 1st, 2025, EIGT proudly participated in its second inter-school chess tournament, the “Coupe de l’EIDE” hosted by the École Internationale Differdange & Esch-sur-Alzette (EIDE). The event brought together students from various international schools in a Swiss-system format tournament, where all players competed in seven intense rounds.
We are proud to share that Paul Perrault won the gold medal in the U15 (non-club licensed) category, securing 5 victories out of 7 matches — a fantastic achievement that highlights both his talent and composure under pressure.
In addition to the three talented students who took part in the previous tournament, five new players joined this time, adding fresh energy and enthusiasm to EIGT’s growing chess team:
Category U15 (non-club licensed):
•Paul Perrault – 🥇 1st place – Gold medal
•Ivan Yanin – 6th place
•Vsevolod Spiesyvtsev – 19th place
•Maxence Sidot – 28th place
Female Ranking:
•Inas Benkacem – 6th place
•Lourdes Fedato – 13th place
•Angelina Krack – 16th place
Category U13 (club licensed):
•Eshan Adhikrath – 23rd place
This enriching experience would not have been possible without the dedication and support of Rafael and Eric, who accompanied and coached our students throughout the event.
Congratulations to all participants for their excellent performances, resilience, and exemplary sportsmanship. EIGT continues to make its mark on the chess board!
