Breaking barriers with imagination, Julia Landini, a young and talented student from our primary school, has won an international Portuguese-language story contest, guided by her Portuguese teacher, Professor Nelson Azevedo.

The 5th edition of “Contos do Dia Mundial da Língua Portuguesa” (Stories for World Portuguese Language Day) is organized by Porto Editora, the Camões Institute, and Portugal’s National Reading Plan. It celebrates creativity in the Portuguese language among young learners across the globe.

Julia’s story earned first place in the A1–A2 category for its originality, emotional depth, and expressive language, all developed under the encouragement and support of her teacher. Although she will not be attending the official ceremony in person, her video testimony was featured at the 5L Festival in Lisbon on May 5th, World Portuguese Language Day. Her story will also appear in the 2025 digital anthology Contos do Dia Mundial da Língua Portuguesa, alongside other award-winning entries.

Congratulations to Julia for this outstanding literary achievement!
