École Internationale Gaston Thorn (EIGT) is delighted to announce the opening of two new campuses for the 2025-2026 school year:

a primary school in Kirchberg and a secondary school in Walferdange.

These new schools will play a key role in addressing the growing demand for high-quality public international education in Luxembourg, emphasizing the significance of public European schools within the country’s dynamic and diverse population.

With the continued growth of Luxembourg’s population, the demand for places in public European schools has increased significantly. EIGT, renowned for its commitment to providing high-quality multilingual education, has experienced a surge in enrollment requests, particularly in recent years. This initiative, promoted by the Minister of National Education, Childhood, and Youth, Mr. Claude Meisch, as part of the government’s educational program, aims to expand the availability of school places in accredited European schools to meet the needs of an increasingly linguistically diverse student population at both primary and secondary levels.

The new primary school in Kirchberg and the secondary school in Walferdange will operate as independent institutions while benefiting from the leadership and expertise of EIGT’s experienced team. These new schools reflect the government’s commitment to creating local public European schools that address the educational needs of Luxembourg’s community. They will offer families a robust curriculum and are part of a broader strategy to ensure that local public European educational options remain responsive to growing demand.

The values and philosophy of EIGT, rooted in a culture of appreciation, respect for diversity, and academic excellence, will be fully integrated into these two new institutions. The management team is committed to ensuring that democracy, music, and the digital world are as visible and essential in these schools as they are in the main institution. These values will be at the core of the students’ educational experience, providing a framework in which each child can thrive, develop their creativity, and prepare for the challenges of an ever-changing world.

The opening of these new campuses represents a significant step forward in strengthening Luxembourg’s educational landscape, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds have access to the exceptional European education they deserve. The EIGT community is dedicated to providing an enriching and inclusive environment for all students, preparing them for a globalized world while celebrating Luxembourg’s multicultural society.
