Between 12-15 February, six brave students from EIGT invested their free time during the winter break and participated in the International European Schools Model United Nations (IES.MUN 2026), organized by the local European School in Warsaw, Poland.
Gabriela, Max, Ala, Dea, Kira, and Alexander became six motivated young diplomats ready to debate, negotiate, and occasionally sprint through airports in the name of international cooperation. Dressed up like the politicians they represented, EIGT’s representatives made their way to the MUN opening ceremony in the spectacular setting of the POLIN museum. Distinguished guest speakers — including the Mayor of Warsaw, the former U.S. Ambassador, and the Executive Director of Frontex — inspired the young participants with their insights into politics, diplomacy, and real-world decision‑making.
Two days of intensive council meetings took place at the European School in the outskirts of Wilanów. EIGT’s 4 delegates and 2 chair‑women all did great jobs, navigating heated debates, surprise amendments, and the occasional diplomatic plot twist with remarkable grace.
The final day of the MUN conference unfolded once again in the truly sumptuous POLIN Museum—an inspiring backdrop for diplomacy at its finest. Our EIGT participants distinguished themselves spectacularly, receiving an exceptional recognition and bringing home some of the conference’s highest honors, including multiple awards for Best Delegate and Best Chair.
Overall, the participation at IES.MUN 2026 was a great experience and all our delegates and chairs look forward to participating again in the future.
