On Tuesday February 4th, Mr Efthymios Sipetzis, Coordinator of Human Sciences, in his capacity as EPAS Senior Ambassador has represented the Ecole internationale Gaston Thorn in a specially organized visit of the Court of Justice of the European Union for EPAS Schools in Luxembourg.

The representatives of the schools had the honour to meet Mr K. Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice, before attending the briefing of a case of European interest by Mr Lenaerts himself and the actual hearing of the case in the Grande Salle d’Audience.

During the day, the representatives of EPAS Schools had the opportunity to discuss the following topics:

  • “EU and migration” (with Mr S. Adam, Legal Secretary)
  • “Empowering EU citizens and EU case teaching in secondary schools” (with Prof. Kris Grimponprez, Leuven University)
  • “The educational project of the Court of Justice for member states” (with Mrs Z. Avas, Head of Unit)
  • “Multilingualism and the work of lawyer-linguists” (with Mr T. Lefèvre, Director General for Multilingualism)

Finally, the day closed with a tour of the premises of the European Court of Justice and of impressive works of art that can be found in the organisation.
