What we offer

Children begin primary education at the age of six on 1 September of the current school year, or earlier if they have completed nursery school. Primary education at EIGT lasts five years, from P1 to P5.

When enrolling, families select a language section based on the child’s main language:

  • English-speaking section

  • French-speaking section

Pupils also choose a second language (L2), different from their first language (L1), which they will study throughout their school years. Additionally, Luxembourgish is an integral part of the curriculum in all language sections.

The Cessange site will host middle and upper primary levels. It offers both language sections and is adapted to meet the needs of older primary students.

Classes offered in 2025/26:

  • P1EN - P2EN

  • P1FR - P2FR

The timetable for each subject per unit per week is available at this link: Units per subject and per level

Support

At EIGT, we offer tailored support lessons to ensure every student’s success. Our flexible support structure adapts to students’ evolving needs across the school year.

There are three levels of support available for students: General Support, Moderate Support, and Intensive Support.

  1. General Support

General support is offered to students in Language 1 (L1), Language 2 (L2), and Mathematics. It is designed to help students strengthen their understanding of core subject content.
Where possible, general support is provided during the corresponding lesson (e.g., maths support during a maths class).

  1. Moderate Support

Moderate support is available for students who require more structured and targeted help. This support focuses on learning strategies and methodological guidance tailored to the student’s individual needs.

Both General and Moderate Support are organised in trimester phases. They are initiated at the request of the subject teacher, who sets specific, individualised learning objectives for the student. These objectives are used by the support teacher to develop a general support plan.  Support can take place either in the classroom or in small groups outside the classroom. All support takes place during regular school hours.

At the end of each phase, the class teacher and support team decide whether the student should continue into the next phase or conclude their support. A written summary of the support provided, along with the student’s progress, is shared with parents during the scheduled parent-teacher meetings in February and July.

General and moderate support are coordinated and monitored by Olivia Turner, the Support Coordinator, who serves as the main point of contact for both staff and families regarding support services.

  1. Intensive Support

Intensive support is designed for students with more significant or ongoing needs. It is coordinated through the School Inclusion Commission (CIS) and can be put in place at any point throughout the school year.

This level of support is typically delivered by educators who assist students in learning how to function as independently as possible within the school environment. The CIS and the support team work closely together to ensure a consistent and individualised approach for each student.

On the first day of school, each student receives a personal data form to be completed and signed by parents or legal guardians. This form details the use of personal data at EIGT. For questions about data processing, contact EIGT’s Data Protection Officer, Tom Raths.
