Partnerships

Partnerships between the school and various outside bodies aim to bring the best possible education to our students as well as a careful preparation for training, studies and future jobs. The objective of these close networks is to open perspectives for the school at local, national and international level and to give students an opportunity to develop personal, professional and social skills.

Service learning

Service learning is a form of teaching and learning that combines students’ social engagement with professional learning. At the École internationale Gaston Thorn, children learn to get involved in the context of school projects and in the context of extracurricular activities.

Sustainable development

The United Nations has defined 17 goals as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Luxembourg is a committed player in this program and so, the École internationale Gaston Thorn participates actively in the implementation of these goals by organizing activities within the school.

Counselling and support

Our counselling and support team looks after the well-being of the whole school community by actively listening to students, parents, teachers and all other members of the school and offering them support in their daily lives.

“The easiest way to avoid wrong notes is to never open your mouth and sing. What a mistake that would be.”

Student parliament

To learn means to apply. In the student parliament, the delegates of all classes and all levels, classified by age group, meet to discuss the requests submitted by their peers once a term. Proposals adopted by a majority are submitted to the administration and to the school conference.
